Exhibition: The World in the Viking Age
The Sealinks Project is participating in a new exhibition at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, Denmark. The World in the Viking Age Exhibition will include objects from Sealinks excavations in East Africa, including an 8th century bronze mirror fragment (shown here), thought to originate from China. The exhibition, which will run from 10 April 2014 until the end of the year, aims to put Denmark’s Viking Age into global perspective, and features new archaeological finds from ships, ports and market towns around the world. The exhibition will explore the ways in which maritime cultures and technologies transformed societies by enabling cultural exchange, economic development and the creation of complex and increasingly global networks.
The World in the Viking Age exhibition opens on the 10th of April 2014 and will be on display until the end of the year.
